| Reading, Writing and Rhythm in the Rivertowns! The Junior League of Westchester-on-Hudson is committed to enhancing and furthering academic and cultural literacy for school-aged children in order to help these children be a success in school and in life. 
Our Goal: We seek to add enrichment programs for the children by working in conjunction with the local schools and our community partners to create meaningful experiences that will build upon and enhance school curricula within our service communities from Peekskill to Hastings. Our overarching goal is to foster an appreciation of reading, writing, music and the arts in our children. |

The JLWOH will once again host our annual festive Holiday Boutique on Friday, December 3 at the Sleepy Hollow Country Club. The event will feature more than 20 specialty vendors and lunch will be available for purchase. The hours for the Boutique are 10am - 4pm. We hope to see you there!

VENDORS PLEASE NOTE: We are now closed for jewelry vendors as we have reached our capactiy in that category. (You may send in applications for the 2011 boutique to be held on file if you would like.) All other categories still have some openings available. Thank you for your interest!

The New Nearly New Shop
a resale shop for women's clothing, shoes & accessories35 South Broadway, Tarrytown
Hours: Thursday, Friday & Saturday, 10-5pm 
Reopening for the season on Thursday, September 9th!
We are located on the lower level of the building which can be accessed through the front entrance or via the parking lot at the rear of the building. We are fully stocked with a wonderful assortment of women's clothing, shoes and accessories. Proceeds from the Nearly New Shop go to support the community programs of the JLWOHWOMEN'S CLOTHES NEEDED! The Nearly New Shop needs your gently used women's clothes, shoes and accessories. Please bring your items on Thursday, Friday or Saturday from 10AM to 4PM.

Backpacks for Abbott House In just a few days students across the state will be returning to school. What better way to get kids off to a good start than with a fresh, new backpack. The JLWOH is collecting backpacks for boys and girls who are being served by Abbott House. You may drop your donation in the League house meeting room, or bring it to our opening membership meeting on September 21st. (Abbott House is not requesting any other supplies at this time.) Please help the kids get off to a start in school this year!

If you are interested learning more about the JLWOH we're having an Open House at our October General Membership Meeting on Tuesday, October 19th. We'll have food and drink, hear from a speaker and work on a "done-in-a-meeting' project as well. The Junior League is a great way to meet some wonderful women and work to improve our communities at the same time. Come see what we're all about!
