MoneySmart Kids: June 6th in Sleepy Hollow |
The Provisional Member Class of 2008 is proud to announce their new program, MoneySmart Kids, a one-day financial literacy program for elementary school children. The program will be held on Friday, June 6th, 2008 at the RSHM Life Center in Sleepy Hollow, New York. The goal of the program is to teach children fundamental concepts of money and money management in order to help them become financially responsible teens and adults. MoneySmart Kids will be presented to approximately 94 children who attend an after-school program at the Life Center. The program will be taught by Neale S. Godfrey, the founder of the Children's Financial Network, Inc. The JLWOH will donate several age-appropriate financial education resources to the Life Center, to assist in reinforcing the concepts that will be taught. In addition, the Provisional Class Members will create a MoneySmart Kids Activities & Games binder to present to the Life Center for use in the after-school program.

The Barclays: August 19-24, 2008 |
This year The Barclays golf tournament will be held at Ridgewood Country Club in Paramus, NJ and the JLWOH is proud to announce that we will continue our affiliation with the tournament by sending volunteers to help on various committees. This PGA tour event relies heavily on volunteers to make it a success and in turn the PGA makes a charitable donation to the JLWOH based on the number of volunteers we provide. This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of a premier golf tourament and to help the JLWOH at the same time. If you, your spouse, co-workers or friends would like to volunteer on behalf of the JLWOH please go to www.thebarclaysgolf.com and then click on "Volunteers". The cost for the required Volunteer Uniform Package is $50 and the JLWOH will reimburse you for this fee as long as you indicate "Junior League of Westchester on Hudson" (JL of Hudson) on the line asking for your "Official Tourament Charity Affiliation". (If you do not indicate that you are volunteering on behalf of the JLWOH then we will not be reimbursed for your participation.) Some committees fill quickly so sign up early. Thank you for supporting the JLWOH and The Barclays! For more information about the Ridgewood Country Club you can visit their website at www.rcc1890.com.
